MIDWIVES MODEL OF CARE
Well Rounded Momma (WRM) Midwives, specialize in maternity care for healthy women and their babies. Pregnancy and birth are normal, healthy and transformational events in women’s lives. Our goal is to support your healthy pregnancy with information, education, monitoring, attentive listening, nutritional and herbal counseling. “The whole point of woman-centered birth is the knowledge that a woman is the birth power source. She may need, and deserve, help, but in essence, she always had, currently has, and will have the power.” ~Heather McCue We support the Midwives Model of Care which is based on the fact that pregnancy and birth are normal life processes. The application of this woman-centered model of care has been proven to reduce the incidence of birth injury, trauma, and cesarean section.
PRENATAL
We provide 45 minute prenatal visits on a regular schedule. This means you have extra time to talk about important topics with your midwife.
LABOR & BIRTH
Our clients have the option of choosing to give birth in the comfort of their own home. Or, receive prenatal and postpartum care with a midwife, but give birth in the hospital with a physician.
POSTPARTUM
We believe that early postpartum care is important for the health and well being of families. Our clients receive more visits during the first 6 weeks than other models of care.
NEWBORN
Routine care also includes assessing your baby for growth and milestones. For homebirth clients, we file the birth certificate and are able to do all newborn screenings.
