Kim Trower CPM,  Mother to Mother Care Pregnancy and childbirth are truly a transformative time in a woman’s life and it should be nurtured for what it is. I believe in individualized care focusing on education and empowering women to have the birth they desire. I am a home birthing, breastfeeding mama of  two girls and bring this mothering aspect into my practice as I care for you and your family.  I came into midwifery gradually and with a natural progression since birthing my own babies and feeling so driven and passionate about helping other women understand their choices in childbirth. I taught childbirth education classes when my girls were babies and attended a few births as I was invited. Very soon many of my students were inviting me to support them through labor and birth and so that transitioned into being a doula for many hospital and home birthing parents. As my life unfolded as a parent and in birth work I was drawn to do more and learn more for birthing families in Las Vegas, so began my midwifery training in 2004. I have apprenticed with a few different midwives in Nevada and then completed a program through the North American Registry of Midwives and an apprenticeship to April Kermani, CPM in 2009. I am a Certified Professional Midwife serving families who want to birth at home. I also support families choosing a hospital birth and provide the midwifery model of care prenatally and provide labor support both at home and when you are at the hospital.

Sherry Hopkins CPM, Founder and President of Well Rounded Momma Everyone’s journey through the miracle of pregnancy and birth is so unique. There is no right or wrong way to give birth, and each woman has unique needs before, during, and after her birth experience.  I provide comprehensive clinical care and support in an individual way to assist the woman and her partner in preparing and carrying out their plans for birth. while supporting the emotional well-being of you and your family.

Selecting your care provider is one of the most important decisions you make for your baby. One reason many are turning to homebirth is the relationship they develop with their midwife. This relationship is very different from what you would experience with a doctor. The bond that is shared between you and your midwife should be very fulfilling. How, where, and who greets your baby as he or she enters this world will have lasting effects for you and your family.

As a midwife I seek clients where nurturing connections can be made and flourish. I have the honor of greeting beautiful babies as they entered the world and I cherish the relationships developed during their birth journey, relationships that have lasted throughout the years. If you are interested in having a homebirth, I invite you and your support team to visit with me, get to know each other, and see if I am the right fit to share in the transformational journey you are now embarking upon. So whether you are just beginning your journey or are well along on the path I would be honored to walk beside you for a spell

Allyson Butler, Your Happy Home Birth ~ Serving expectant families throughout Clark County. She became a midwife in 2009 in order to provide access to comprehensive, research-based, affordable, compassionate, and safe care for women desiring a natural pregnancy and birth. Allyson began her work
in women’s health as a birth doula supporting families in hospital and home births in Las Vegas. Assisting couples as they transform into
parents is what fuels Allyson’s passion for midwifery. Her philosophy is that pregnancy and birth are normal, healthy processes and that women should be supported physically and emotionally throughout their journey to motherhood.
Allyson is completing her midwifery degree through the National College of Midwifery. She graduated from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas with a Master’s degree in 2008 and from the University of West Florida with a Bachelor’s degree in 2006. Allyson maintains certifications in neonatal resuscitation and adult/infant/child CPR. It is Allyson’s goal to continually research and learn as much as possible regarding the latest issues in midwifery care, in order to best support her pregnant mom’s and their families in making health care decisions. Allyson says, “Being a midwife is my life’s calling. It is an honor and a privilege to provide collaborative care for women and their families during such a transformative time in their lives.” She lives in Henderson with her partner, son, and two dachshunds.

April Kermani CPM, Baby’s 1st Day April believes in women being active participants in their care. This means getting educated about your pregnancy and making decisions that are best for you and your baby. Child birth education is encouraged and referrals are given to many Las Vegas and Henderson classes including, Bradley method of natural child birth, Hypnobirthing, Lamaze classes, iCare and Birthing from Within. Referrals are also offered for doula services, lactation consultants, La Leche League meetings, and much more to help you through pregnancy to parenting.

Another service April provides is helping parents create a “wish list” or birth plan for the big day. This is individualized and can include avoiding tearing, desiring a water birth or having dad catch the baby.  April started her career in maternity care as a labor and delivery nurse at Sunrise Hospital.  She worked as a labor and delivery nurse for nearly 5 years.  At the time, Sunrise was only one of two hospitals in Las Vegas that had a level III neonatal intensive care unit.  This meant that there were a lot of high risk pregnancies and deliveries that April encountered in her time there.  This experience has been invaluable in clearly knowing the difference between normal and abnormal. Being a bit disillusioned with her career as a labor and delivery nurse, April felt she could better serves families by training to become a midwife.  April spent the next two years obtaining her masters degree in nurse midwifery.  After graduating from midwifery school April began a hospital based practice at St. Rose Hospital.  Over a 3 year period April introduced water birth and many other natural child birth friendly options for mothers. At the end of 2007 April fulfilled a long time dream and opened a home birth practice.  She dropped her certification as a nurse-midwife and took yet another national board exam and became a certified professional midwife through the North American Registry of Midwives.
