CELA is a non profit, grassroots organization that exists to act as a support group and networking body for aspiring and practicing birth professionals. What Does the CELA Organization Do?

1. Provide referrals,support, and networking opportunities to expectant parents
2. Host local professional trainings.
3. Support local and national birth and parenting causes and events that promote healthy, scientifically based birth, parenting, and health practices

WRM DOULAS

All WRM Certified Doulas are required to:
Observe three births (not your own and at least one hospital), Attend & Actively Participate in three births under mentor supervision
Read: Every Thinking Women¡¦s Guide to a Better Birth- Henci Goer, Jack Newman’s Ultimate Guide to Breastfeeding, The Birth Partner – Penny Simkin, some suggested reading as well as the above mentioned are anything in the Dr. Sears series and Mothering Magazine
Train: ongoing education with membership in CELA, trainings offer at center that include but are not limited to: advanced doula, birth doula, postpartum doula, antepartum doula workshops, have infant and adult CPR certification
Educate: WRM breastfeeding class, VBAC class, and a minimum of one full series childbirth education series
Participate: on the back up doula schedule and any special pricing WRM offers.
