Homebirth Meet-up
Homebirth accounts for approximately 1.05% of all births in the United States. That number grew 20% from 2004-2008 according to the LA Times, and it is still growing! Homebirthers are dynamic families from all walks of life! We are Professionals, Homemakers, Scientists and Artists! But most of all we are people who want the gentlest, safest and most joyful birth experience for our babies and ourselves. The Homebirth Meetup is a way to hear stories and share experience with like minded families and Birth Professionals. Get your questions answered and make connections that will lead you on your Birthing Journey.
Momma’s Milk Circle
Becoming a mother and forming a family is an exciting time in your life. It’s full of joy and discovery, but can at times be overwhelming and even isolating. WRM acts as a community hub for new moms. We invite you to come meet other new and expectant parents in one of our Momma‘s Circle’s. You’ll feel welcome in our comfortable, relaxing, and supportive setting in which you can swap stories, ask questions, and find support on a weekly basis. Discussions range from parenting styles to sleep and feeding challenges, and always promise plenty of laughter along the way. Pre-registration is not necessary, as classes are offered on a drop-in basis. New babies and crawling babies are welcome. Parents and babies aged 0-18 months are invited to stay after the groups to enjoy each other’s company as you build your community. All circle’s are facilitated by a CLC every Thursday from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at Well Rounded Momma.

VBAC Circle
The purpose of the informal morning VBAC Circle is to meet and talk to women who share the common experience of birthing by caesarean section. As each birth is different, each woman has a different perspective of their experience. The emotions involved can span from good to bad to down right devastating. Respecting all of the emotions associated with birth is a core element to the success of our morning circle. Listening and learning from others can help you to view things from different perspectives and aid in your own emotional healing (if needs be). Another element to the support meetings is to share information and thus aid informed choice. The topics of conversation can be predetermined or just ‘flow’ on the day. Our VBAC Circle will also cater for particular interests and arrange relevant guest speakers. Donuts and tea will be provided. Partners are most welcome.
What is VBAC!
VBAC is an anacronym for vaginal birth after previous caesarean, and was coined in 1974 by Nancy Wainer Cohen joint author of the now famous ‘Silent Knife’.
VBAC is neither dangerous nor the desire of the foolish. The average woman who aims to birth her baby vaginally is actually following good medical science. The proof is written in reams of research papers in the most trusted and esteemed obstetric journals around the world. VBAC is safe when labour is allowed to progress normally with no unnecessary interventions (and in a VBAC labour that is most), and it is successful in the majority of women (70-85% and higher).
Read the information on when to have the next baby, preparing for a VBAC, inductions, birth stories and try to get some of the books on the recommended reading. These are the things that will assist you in understanding if VBAC is the right option for you, contact tiffanie@wellroundedmomma.com for support as we are all women who have been there to.

1. We’d love to have you on the list! However, because of a lot of the inappropriate spam, etc. these lists get, it is a restricted list. But, by all means, if you’re not a spammer and just a normal mom or mom-to-be, after you send your membership request, you will be asked to submit a profile, which will be posted to the loop and put in the database, and then you will be approved.
2. Description: We are not a mainstream group but we also do not exclude anyone for their beliefs, parenting style, etc, but please keep in mind this group is for support, discussion, and learning about all your options in parenting. It is a safe haven for us to discuss our parenting and birthing styles, which are often not mainstream. If you want to learn more, have an open mind, be a part of a supportive group of moms and in return feel supported in your parenting then please join us for discussions or to just read along. If you disagree strongly to any of the following practices and have any negative judgements please keep them to yourself or do not join. Many, but not all, of the list members are attatched parents, non or selective vaccinaters, co-sleepers, breastfeeding, birth naturally or at home, do not circumcize, homeschool and the like
3. Being that we all have varying cultural, religious, and political backgrounds, to keep peace on the list the following are off topics and not allowed: religion bashing (altho you can mention your own religion), political bashing (altho you can mention your affliation), teen promiscuity or abstinence, homosexuality, abortion
